A major anti-corruption operation was carried out today in the Mohammadi Tehsil, where the Anti-Corruption Team arrested Revenue Officer (Kanungo) Bhupendra Singh red-handed while accepting a bribe.
According to sources, the bribery case was linked to field boundary and drainage repair (meadbandi) work for agricultural land. Local farmer Ghanshyam Pathak had submitted a formal application for the work, but Kanungo Bhupendra allegedly kept delaying the process and demanded a bribe of ₹6,000 to move the file forward.
When the farmer refused to pay and expressed his inability, he filed a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Team. Acting on the complaint, the team laid a trap and caught Bhupendra Singh accepting ₹5,000 as bribe.
The Anti-Corruption Team immediately detained the officer, and photographs as well as videos of his arrest inside the Tehsil premises were secured as evidence. After being caught, Bhupendra was taken to the Community Health Center (CHC) along with the Kotwali Police for a mandatory medical examination, following which legal proceedings were initiated.

Officials confirmed that strict action is being taken against the accused under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The accused will be produced before the court in the coming days, and formal procedures for judicial custody have begun.
